The Nyad

What is it that has tied the figure of the woman to water in mythology? Mermaids, sirens and silkies pepper our folklore and mythology across the world. Little spoken of, however, is the Nyad. A female spirit who presides over fresh waters. Fountains, streams and brooks are all homes to the Nyad. While they appear predominantly in Greek mythology, there is something about the Nyad that is oddly reminiscent of the Lady of the Lake...

This A3 print is printed on Ho-Sho paper and finished with mica paint details. Printed on A3 paper, suitable for an A3 frame with an A4 mount. 

Each print is hand carved on traditional Lino which is comprised of a mixture of linseed oil, sawdust and a hessian backing, before being hand pulled. All prints are sent on a recyclable grey board backing, in compostable cello bags.
